Show Notes
Pam and Steph are back for the first WTYM podcast of 2025! We share an update on how winter break impacted our creativity, what we accomplished or didn’t, and how we feel heading into the new year.
What feels like a “hell, yes” to you in the new year?—We talk about the importance of leaning into our intuition and trusting what feels good when taking on new creative and work projects.
“Everything cross pollinates and everything is compost.” When you lean into play and creativity organically—painting your kitchen, spending time in nature, learning a new craft or hobby—it often spills into your work life.
What are Morning Pages and how do they impact your creativity? This daily ritual is more about process than product—think of it as a brain dump or cleaning the pipes. Steph shares how it’s felt to start this practice, which is a staple of Julia Cameron’s book “The Artist’s Way.”
How does spirituality inform creativity? The subtitle of “The Artist’s Way” is “A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity,” and we dissect the “ick” factor surrounding spirituality, and how we (Steph and Pam) come at it from more of a “connection and flow” angle than some of the gross practices that have given spirituality a bad rap.
Speaking of. . . we are diving into three months of The Artist’s Way next week with an interactive online community. Join us for 13 weeks of virtual discussions on Tuesdays at noon where we can explore this book and practice together. Learn more and register here.
Listen To Your Mother Boulder auditions are open! You can listen to our first podcast episode to learn more about what we are looking for in an essay submission.
OR, you can join us in person on Saturday from 1-4 for a workshop, From Page to Stage, to work on creating a LTYM essay submission or any other story you’ve been wanting to get from your brain onto the page (and maybe the stage!). Details and registration here.
Upgrade to a paid subscription to get access to our Resource Den, full of weekly writing prompts, monthly meditations, our favorite writing resources, AND you’ll save 20% on every single workshop and 1:1 writing coaching services. Learn more here.
We leave you with some impromptu “New Year’s gifts” to you—a spontaneous song from Steph and a powerful reading from Pam. (We made up this idea on the spot, so please give us grace on our maiden voyage of podcast gifts. 🤷♀️)
XOXO,
